We found out from a friend that there is a Snoopy display at the library right now. And as you know from reading my last post, for John-Isaac this would be like heaven! Brian was off today so we got ready and off to the library we went. John-Isaac saw the display immediately and he stood there for at least ten minutes looking at every piece over and over (even as I am typing this he is standing beside me jumping up and down saying “snoopy, library”). He loved it!!
After we looked at the Snoopy’s we went into the Children’s library. It is a really great place. We haven’t made as much use of this wonderful place as we should have, mostly because I have always been nervous about taking an autistic child who can be very loud into a place where he needs to be still and quiet! He did really great and loved everything in there! This place is not just books! There is a castle for them to play in, a fish tank, fun mirrors, bean bags to relax in, a model train set up around a replica of Jonesboro. The boys really enjoyed it. I think we will be making more trips there now!
John-Isaac is obsessed with Snoopy. We really don’t know why it happened. Snoopy has never been a big part of neither Brian’s nor my family, but for some reason after watching It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown for the first time John-Isaac was hooked. That year for Christmas my mom got him a huge stuffed Snoopy with Woodstock on his head, and needless to say he has slept with it every night since. His collection has grown by leaps and bounds as people find out about his obsession! One night I was at Wal Mart and saw Snoopy sleep pants in an adult size small. My mom cut them off and hemmed them. He thinks if we are in the house he has to have them on. Then if we are getting ready to go somewhere he wears them around his neck like a scarf until we leave. Funny, I know. Last night they were needing to be washed and he kept asking for them. I promised him they would be ready for him to wear for bedtime but that I had to wash them. When I came around the corner this is what I found! John-Isaac looking in the washing machine for his Snoopy pants!! Bless his heart, he did not leave that washing machine until they were finished!!
John-Isaac with his collection of Snoopy stuff!! Wearing his Snoopy pants, of course!!
My niece Vivian had her third birthday party this weekend. It was at her favorite place in the world, the McDonald’s in Paragould. They really do have the neatest play area I have seen. Viv is the quiet, shy one, while her sister Ava-John is the outgoing, put you in your place child. Vivian had a great time, as did all of her friends and family. God really knew what he was doing when he gave Johna these precious girls! They are just meant to be a part of our family!! Everyone got a Happy Meal and the party was complete with a Dora birthday cake and ice cream! YUM!
Layne and John-Isaac
Johna is so artistic and creative!! She made everyone party favors.

Singing Happy Birthday
Yes, Linley is half a year old now and it still doesn’t seem like we have had her a week! We are enjoying her so much. She has the sweetest little spirit and personality! You can tell she is going to love life and love to have fun! She has started saying “hi” all the time now. Whenever Layne walks in the room she says it until he talks to her. She also says it to get your attention if she thinks you are not talking to her enough. I do believe she is boss of the household! She loves to lay on her belly. She can already move herself backward. I am afraid it won’t be long before she is crawling!!
Linley had her first Professional Pictures done about two weeks ago. I think they turned out wonderful. Kendy Schimmel took them. She is a close family friend who worked for At Home Arkansas for a few years and has now moved to Jonesboro and started her own photography business. You can see all of her work at www.kendyschimmel.com if you click on proofing, the password to see Linley’s pictures is linleyb. She is so artistic in the way she does the pictures. If you are interested in something different you should give her a call. I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed!
Today our church took the kids to ride horses at the ASU Equine Center. Layne and John-Isaac were both a little Apprehensive about going at first but warmed up very quickly once we were there. We walked around the stables and got to pet all of the horses first. Then the ladies talked to us about the horses and showed us their shoes. Each child got to feed the horse a treat and then they got to ride. Layne loved it after he got on the horse. John-Isaac jumped right on and was very excited. After he had his first turn he looked up at Brian and said, “Daddy, may I try that again.” We got a full sentence out of him! YEAH!! Or should I say YEHAW!!

Our church has the most wonderful kids program with the most wonderful kids pastor I have ever seen!! This year they organized a weekend Sports and More Camp for the kids in grades 1-4. Layne was so excited. Each child got to pick three things they would like to participate in. Layne chose swimming, basketball, and flag football. Since this was going to be his first overnight trip anywhere, Brian took off a couple of days from work and volunteered to help with the camp so that Layne would not be completely by himself! They both had a really good time and Layne said that he can’t wait to go back next year!

Swimming was everyone’s favorite! It was sooo hot!
