VBS

We had VBS last week at our church (Highland Drive Baptist).  It was a blast!  The boys loved it so much.  The theme was Sonworld and the whole week was like we were at an amusement park.  I worked with the first graders.  What a sweet age!  One of the things that impressed me the most was a thing called Operation Christmas Child.  I had heard of it before but had never learned about it in depth.  It starts with a simple shoe box and then you pack it with basic necessities, school supplies, and then some small toys.  Then it is eventually makes it to a child in another country who never has even had a toy of his/her own!  We included a letter and picture of the child sending it.  Sometimes you get a letter back from the child that received it.  We learned about this all week and on the last day each child at VBS got to pack a box.  It was so sweet to see each child so carefully pick out the things that would go in their box!  After they were packed each child hugged their box as if they were hugging the child who would receive it and we prayed for them.  It was very touching!  God is Good!  All the time!!  Here are a few pictures.

Closing program.  There is just something about children singing and praising God that just touches you in a way nothing else can!
