Saturday was the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Heart Picnic at the Little Rock Zoo. Every year they invite all of their heart patients and their families back for a day of fun and celebration. It is always a day of reflection and thankfulness for me as I think about our stay at the hospital when John-Isaac was just 2 months old. It will be 6 years since his surgery this summer and we are so thankful that it was a one time surgery and he is fine. God is so good, all the time! The day went well even though it was very hot. We left a little early and took the kids to their favorite restaurant for dinner, The Purple Cow. They love it not because of the food but because for dessert they get purple ice cream!
This bald eagle was right at the fence of his pen. It was neat to see him up close.
