For the last day of school the first graders made tie dyed t-shirts to wear. Layne was so funny about it. He got so upset about “messing up” his white t-shirt! He told us that he just wanted to leave his plain! I told him that is would be a lot of fun to put all the different colors on the shirt and that it would turn out really neat looking. Brian had a day off so we went up to the school to help. We were pretty sure we had Layne convinced to participate but we wanted to make sure that he did! To say the least it was organized chaos, but oh, did those kids have fun! You could see each child’s personality in those shirts! Some soaked their shirts till there was no white left and others dotted different areas of their shirts. They all turned out really cute. Linley went with us and at the end Layne’s whole class was gathered around her playing peek-a-boo and talking to her. She ate it up! I think she was the hit of the party!

Sometimes you capture a moment on film that you know you will cherish forever. This was one of those moments. Layne had just woken up and climed in our bed where I had Linley laying while I got the boys clothes together for school. When I saw Layne laying there talking to her and Linley looking at him like every word he said was just the most important thing she had ever heard I had to grab my camera!
I simply cannot believe Linley is four months old! It is just going by too fast. She is doing great. Her favorite thing now is chewing on her hands and making this new growling/gurgling sound. She is happy as a lark as long as someone is holding her or talking to her, but if she gets left alone for more than 30 seconds you are going to hear about it. Then as soon as you come back to see what is wrong she stops fussing and just gives you the biggest smile! I know what you all are thinking and yes, she is SPOILED rotten. But I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Layne lost his fifth tooth this week! And of couse it happened at the worst possible time! We were already running late for school. We had about 5 minutes before we needed to be in the car pulling out of the driveway and the boys were brushing their teeth. I new Layne’s tooth was loose, I just didn’t think it was that loose! As he was brushing his teeth the tooth started bleeding. He started to freak out a little. I told him it was ok and that we would mess with it after school. “No! It has to come out now. I can’t go to school with it this way?” By the time we finally got it out all three of my children were crying and I felt like I needed some kind of sedative! Why couldn’t this have happened when Brian was off, I kept thinking to myself. I tossed him a wet washcloth and told him to bite down on that on the way to school, and scooted them out the door. Layne was only 2 minutes late for school (which was a miracle) and I didn’t even get a speeding ticket! The tooth fairy came that night and everything was just fine!
Ah, I remember those days when I was very young when I got to have a friend from school come over and play. I remember how excited I would get waiting on the clock to get to the right time so we could go pick them up. I got to see that in Layne’s eyes this past Saturday. He has made a wonderful new little friend named Clayton who just moved here in January. They love the same things and are just so much alike. They have a great time together. They wanted to go play at the park and even though it was getting cloudy we agreed to take them. The rain held off for a while and they got to play for about an hour. About thirty minutes after we got home we suddenly found ourselves huddled in the hallway with the tornado sirens going at full force. I was so thankful we were home and not at the park! Everything turned out fine and the boys never even really noticed anything was going on! All in all we had a great day!

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother who is reading this. Today was extra special for me. Last Mother’s Day we found out we were having another baby and today we got to dedicate Linley to the Lord at church. It was very sweet. Linley wore my mother’s christening gown that she wore when she was a baby. The boys both wore it also so it is extra special. I love Mother’s Day so much. I think because all I have ever wanted is to be a mother! It is the hardest but most awesome job in the world. I would never want to do anything else! I hope all of you had a great day!

We got a smile!
Well, John-Isaac really does think that it is the greatest show on earth! He loves the circus. When we found out that it was going to be in town on his birthday we knew what we had to get him for a gift. Tickets! This one is really neat for the kids because it is a one ring version and they get to be really close. They also have a preshow an hour before the circus actually starts where the kids can go down and meet the clowns and performers. We all had a wonderful time.
The boys got to dress up in circus clothes.

Everyone’s favorite, the white tigers.
And this is how we all felt by the end of the night!!!
