Every Wednesday Johna and I take the kids to story time at Barnes and Noble. There is the sweetest little lady they call Granny D and she comes out and reads stories to the kids. It is always a really cute story with pop ups or fuzzy little animals that all the kids can touch. Linley doesn’t really get into it yet, but Ava-John and Vivian love it. At the end they sing a little song and get a sticker. It is just a fun little moment we enjoy sharing with our children!

John-Isaac will be 6 years old on May 1st, so this weekend we had his birthday party. He gets really overwhelmed with things so easily that we always keep his parties kindof low key. We just had family, and even with that we still had about 30 people in our house! We have a really big family! John-Isaac loves the circus. A few months ago we found out that the one-ring version of Barnum and Bailey’s greatest show on earth was coming to Jonesboro on May 1st (his real birthday), so we decided to get tickets and take him. We also decided to carry the theme through to his party. He loved it. He got a lot of great gifts. His favorites were a nintendo DS and a Hannah Montana game. Yes, my son is obsessed with Hannah. It’s crazy! I want to say a special thank you to my grandmother, aunt Cindy, my cousins Elizabeth and Tonya, and my newest little cousin Emory for coming from Monticello. We loved you all being here.

It’s Hannah Montana!
High School Musical is all the rage at our house. Layne and John-Isaac both think that it is the greatest thing ever, so for Christmas my mom gave our family and Johna’s family tickets for the High School Musical The Ice Tour. We have been counting down since then and yesterday, finally, we made the trip to Little Rock for the show. In true Disney fashion it was great! They even made the skaters look like the real actors. Layne said, “Mom, you said that they weren’t going to be the real Troy and Gabriella, but I think you were wrong because they have the same voices.” He was so excited I didn’t have the heart to tell him otherwise! Linley did great. She slept through the first half and watched the second half. We all had a great time!

Linley is 3 months old today. I cannot believe we have already had her that long, she is growing up so fast. She smiles and coos all the time, now and is really beginning to be a lot of fun. She is already developing a very strong little personality and in true form she doesn’t like to wait for anything (I don’t know who she gets that from.)! We also received her cardiologist appt. papers in the mail today. Thank you for praying with us, we are going to be able to do it here in Jonesboro. We are going on May 2nd at 10:00 a.m. Please continue to pray that everything will be fine. I will continue to update as we know more.
Layne and John-Isaac’s favorite thing in the world is iced sugar cookies, so yesterday afternoon we decided to let them make some themselves (with a little help from Mom and Dad, of course). We really like to do things that John-Isaac will get involved with and this is one of those things. We dumped out all of the cookie cutters onto the cabinet and they could pick any of them they wanted. Usually when we do this we have some theme that we are sticking to so we only use certain cutters. The first thing Layne wanted to do was cut out his name. John-Isaac wanted a football. We ended up with everything from a flag to a dinosaur. I had found some neon food coloring at the store so we had some lime green, purple, bright blue, and hot pink icing. We used some baggies and decorating tips and let them decorate and then eat their creations! Here is a little of what they did! Bon a petite!
Every Friday My Mom, My sister, and I along with, my two nieces, and Linley have a little girls’ day. We usually start out with children’s story time at church, and end with lunch at a local restaurant. It is nice that at least one time a week we all get to spend a little time together. Today we were all at my mom’s house and I thought it would be a good time to get some pics of Linley with Ava-John and Vivian. We got one before Linley started crying. Luckily it was a good one!

These are my 2 nieces Ava-John and Vivian. For those of you who don’t know, my sister adopted them. She has had Vivian since she was 11 weeks old and Ava-John since she was 10 months old. They are 5 months apart. Ava-John was 3 in February and Vivian will be 3 in July. Their adoptions were both final on the same day last October. We now lovingly refer to that day as “Gotcha Day”. They are so much fun.
